GSD teachers and staff received the first dose of the vaccine against COVID-19

9 June 2021

Thanks to the efforts of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and the Caja Costarricense del Seguro Social, the staff of our institution received on Monday the first dose of the vaccine against the Coronavirus in the San Rafael de Alajuela’s Hospital.

A fundamental piece in this whole process was the doctor of our institution, Laura Carballo, who was in charge of all the procedures with the aforementioned government entities.

“Being able to get the GSD staff vaccinated has been one of my biggest goals this year and we achieved it this week. It was a long and tedious process for which I am very proud of, and I am very grateful to my colleagues and CCSS staff for all the support. Knowing that most teachers and staff have at least one dose gives us all peace of mind and optimism that every day the GSD Community is more protected against the virus, and we can therefore also protect those who cannot get vaccinated”, mentioned our Dr. Carballo.

This vaccination is a fundamental step towards what we all hope will be a positive way out of this pandemic. “It has been a difficult year and I hope that with this vaccination campaign, we can do our bit for the Pandemic to end more quickly”, finalized the doctor.

The second dose of the vaccine for our staff is schedule for Monday August 30th.
