GSD Students Shine in Their First Model UN Experience!

5 May 2025

This past Saturday and Sunday, May 3rd and 4th, the GSD Speech and Debate Club participated in their very first Model United Nations (MUN) Conference, hosted by El Liceo de Poás in Alajuela.

Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the real United Nations, where students represent different countries and debate global issues, aiming to find diplomatic solutions through negotiation, research, and public speaking.

Our students delivered an outstanding performance and were recognized for their preparation and participation in the various committees.
We are proud to announce that three students received Honorable Mentions: Mariana Martinez (11th grade), Renata Trujillo (9th grade), and Juan Pablo Murillo (7th grade).
Additionally, Maria Laura Valverde (9th grade) was awarded Best Delegate for her leadership and contributions in the Security Council.

Congratulations to all our participants — your dedication and teamwork truly made us proud!
